I. Aim of the Provision
- The provision herein is issued following the Scholarship Regulations of Charles University (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") and the Rules for Awarding Scholarships at FSV UK (hereinafter referred to as the "Rules").
II. Amount of Scholarships for Outstanding Study Results
- In accordance with the provisions of Article 4 paras 3, 4 of the Regulations and Article 2 of the Rules, I hereby stipulate the minimum amount of the scholarship for outstanding study results at 15,000 CZK and the maximum amount of this scholarship at 23,000 CZK.
- The scholarship referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be payable retrospectively, on a one-off basis in November for the preceding academic year; 10% of the best-achieving full-time students are entitled to the scholarship in accordance with the Regulations and the Rules. The detailed rules for calculating the grade-point average (GPA) and other conditions for awarding this scholarship are set out in Article 2 of the Rules.
- The scholarship for outstanding study results is awarded by the Dean on an ex-officio basis.
III. Scholarship under Article 9 of the Regulations and Article 5 of the Rules (Scholarship under Special Consideration)
- Pursuant to Article 9 of the Regulations scholarship may be awarded for participating in the teaching activities of the faculty to the students enrolled in doctoral and follow-up Master's degree programs.
- The application shall be submitted through the SIS workplace where the FSV student is involved in teaching activities.
- The director of the institute or the head of the department where the applicant carries out his/her teaching activity may become a petitioner for the scholarship for teaching activities.
- Staff of the Study Department will review the formal requirements of the application and check the conditions for awarding the scholarship in accordance with the Regulations. The amount of the required amount will be assessed by the corresponding Vice-Dean.
- Each institute may under this part of the provision annually draw from the scholarship fund an amount determined when allocating the budget.
- For scholarships for an active participation in the creative activities of the faculty workplaces and scholarships for an active participation in the international cooperation between the faculty workplaces or the faculty as a whole, paragraphs 2 to 5 of this Article shall apply comparably.
- Scholarships for outstanding sports results and representation of university at academic international competitions are awarded by the Dean at the student's request. Scholarships for exemplary civic action are awarded by the Dean at the instigation of any member of the academic community of Charles University.
- The scholarship for the representation of the faculty is awarded by the Dean at the request of one of the head members of the faculty.
IV. Doctoral Scholarship under Article 12 of the Regulations and Article 7 of the Rules
- I hereby stipulate the amount of doctoral scholarship for students from the first to the fourth year of full-time doctoral studies at CZK 10,500,- per month.
V. Cancellation of Previous Provisions
This provision cancels the Dean's Provision no. 19/2017 Adjustment of Scholarships and Details for Scholarship Applications at FSV UK.
VI. Transitional Provision to Article IV of this Provision
- The student in the doctoral study program in the full-time form of studies, who was awarded doctoral scholarship between 1 January, 2018 and the date this Dean’s Provision comes into effect, is awarded by the dean compensatory doctoral scholarship corresponding to the difference between CZK 10,500 per month and the monthly amount of the scholarship awarded to him/her during that period, providing this difference is in positive numbers.
VII. Efficiency Period
This provision comes into effect on 15 April, 2018.
