I. Common Provisions

The employees of FSV UK when in the media (if commenting on the field-related issues concerning their activities at FSV UK) present their ties with the Faculty of Social Sciences in relation to the type of their employment at FSV UK, according to the rules defined below. They will always emphasize this fact to the representative of the respective media as part of the information about their person presented within a specific media output.

If the institution of the Faculty of Social Sciences is misrepresented or omitted by a representative of the media, it is advisable to draw his/her attention to this fact with a request for correction. FSV UK employees are governed in all their statements in the public space by the Code of Conduct of Charles University and the Rector's Measure no. 21/2018 - Basic Principles of Personnel Policy at Charles University.

 

II. Academic and Scientific Members of Staff with the Workload of 1.0

Academic and scientific staff members of FSV UK with a workload of 1.0 present themselves when in the media as representatives of the Faculty of Social Sciences UK, the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University, or FSV UK. Example: “said by Gustav Mohel, economist from the Faculty of Social Sciences UK" or with a more detailed reference, "said by Petr Barták, a member of the Center for Social and Economic Strategies of the Faculty of Social Sciences UK.

 

III. Academic and Scientific Members of Staff with the Workload of Less Than 1.0

While in the media, academic and scientific staff members with the workload of less than 1.0 at FSV UK and with the main employment outside FSV UK mention the Faculty of Social Sciences in the variants described in Article 2 as the second institution they represent whenever possible and they speak about the topic they are lecturing on at FSV. Example: "said by František Novák from the Institute of Sociology and the Faculty of Social Sciences of UK", or "René Výborný from the Metropolitan University and the Faculty of Social Sciences UK was our guest".

 

IV. External Lecturers

Lecturers with no employment relations with FSV UK are presenting themselves as a "lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences UK" when they appear in the media.

 

V. Other Employees of FSV UK

Other employees of FSV UK may, upon request, provide information to the media only through the Public Relations Department of FSV UK, specifically through the FSV UK spokesperson Mgr. Jakub Říman. If they are approached by the media staff inquiring about an area of operation of the Faculty of Social Sciences, it is their duty to pass a telephone and email contact on Mgr. Jakub Říman (tel. number: 721 108 836, jakub.riman@fsv.cuni.cz), who will then mediate further communication with the media.

This measure does not apply to such media representatives who are also students of FSV UK if their inquiries and requests for information relate to their own study agenda in the sense of Act on Universities and the Internal Regulations of UK and FSV UK.
