Instructions for the Examination Period of the Summer Semester in the Academic Year of 2019/2020

1.     The Dean’s Measure is issued in connection with the Rector’s Measure no. 11/2020 Schedule of the academic year 2019/2020 adapted to the state of emergency declared by the Government of the Czech Republic on 12 March 2020 due to the coronavirus epidemic and special measures launched by the Government and respective Ministries of the Czech Republic, Dean’s Measure no. 6/2020, Calendar of the Academic Year of 2019/2020 and Special Rules of Study at Charles University, which were approved by the Academic Senate of University on April 3, 2020 and registered by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports on April 24, 2020.

2.     The following applies to the subjects for which the assessment of study falls within the examination period of the summer semester in the academic year of 2019/2020:

a.      At least one date for the assessment of study of the subject is announced for the period by the end of June 2020.

b.     In July 2020, at least one date for the assessment of study of the subject is announced.

c.      In September 2020, at least one date for the assessment of study of the subject is announced.

d.     Teachers pay attention to balancing out and ensuring the capacity of the dates of the assessment of study of subjects, taking into account the possibilities of students in connection with the coronavirus epidemic and emergency measures announced by the government and ministries of the Czech Republic.

e.      At least one term for the assessment of study of the subject is announced as the distance learning term. Directors may increase the mandatory number of the distance learning terms by their decrees or regulations.

f.      In the case of a distance form of the written test, it is recommended that the following statement be included: “I hereby declare that I have completed the test independently, without the assistance of third parties and without the use of materials other than those permitted in advance.”

g.     In the case of announcing the dates of the assessment of study of the subject in both in-class and distance form in the given subject, the teacher will ensure a comparable level of study-related performance.

h.     Students must be notified of any changes in the conditions for the assessment of study of the subject by 10 May 2020 and such changes must be entered into SIS UK.

3.     Other rights and obligations of students and teachers arising from the Study and Examination Regulations of Charles University and the Rules for the Organization of Studies at FSV UK, which are not regulated by this Measure or the documents in Para 1, remain valid.

4.     During the effective period of the Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic of 30 April 2020 no. 491 on the adoption of emergency measures, a student participating in the in-class assessment of study of the subject must provide a written statement on the absence of symptoms of viral infectious disease in the period of the previous two weeks (Part III, para 1 of the Government Resolution). A sample statutory declaration is available on the faculty’s website in Czech and English versions. The student will submit the statutory declaration to the examiner before the start of the assessment of study of the subject. The examiner further submits the statutory declaration to the secretariat of the institute or the respective department. The respective secretariat will then submit the statutory declaration to the student services office of the faculty, where it will be stored in the file of the respective student.

5.     Para 3 applies analogously to the full-time state final examination. The student submits the statutory declaration to the chairman of the board.

6.     This measure comes into effect on 4 May, 2020.

7.     This measure will expire on 25 September, 2020.
