Associate Professor Ondřej Žíla from the Institute of International Studies at FSV UK has long focused on the modern history of Southeast Europe, particularly Bosnia and Herzegovina. His research explores how local societies deal with the consequences of the 1990s war and how these experiences shape contemporary identity, collective memory and political life in the region. On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at a meeting of the Academic Senate of FSV UK, Tomáš Karásek, the current dean of the faculty, was elected as the candidate for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences for the 2026–2030 term. The Dean has to be appointed by the Rector.
