Important note for visa-seeking students: Please read about the visa process carefully before applying. You are responsible for organizing your legal stay in Czechia and the visa application process can get quite lengthy. The extended deadlines are therefore strongly recommended to students who already possess the legal right to long-term stay in Czechia.

  • Activation of turnstiles at Hollar after the completion of the main phase of renovation work

    Due to the completion of the main phase of the Ph.D. infra project renovation work, the turnstiles at the entrance to the Hollar building will be activated again starting from 2 December 2024. We would like to remind you that to enter Hollar, as well as the Jinonice Campus, you need to use your student or employee card.
  • Results of elections to the Academic Senate FSV UK and Academic Senate UK

    The results of elections to the Academic Senate of Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, and Academic Senate of Charles University have been published. The elections took place from 26 November 2024, 9:00 am, to 28 November 2024, 9:00 am.
  • FSV UK charity Christmas event

    FSV UK has once again prepared a faculty charity Christmas event for its employees. This year it will be focused on helping vulnerable seniors who are clients of the organization Život 90. If you have the opportunity and desire to participate in this charity event, you can do so until Wednesday 18 December 2024.
  • Irena Kalhousová received the Karel Kramář medal from Prime Minister Petr Fiala

    On the occasion of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day, Prime Minister Petr Fiala awarded the Karel Kramář medal to Irena Kalhousová, an expert at the Institute of Political Studies FSV UK and director of the Herzl Center for Israel Studies. She received the award for her outstanding contribution to the public debate on Middle East issues. This year, this award went to a total of 17 personalities.
  • Statement of Tomáš Karásek, Dean of FSV UK, on ​​the anniversary of November 17

    "Two years ago, on the occasion of the anniversary on November 17, I highlighted the role of the academic community in facing the social, political, environmental and security challenges encountered by Czech society and by the broader circle of civilization to which we belong. Viewed from a distance, the severity of these challenges unfortunately has not diminished, quite the contrary," says the Dean Tomáš Karásek on ​​the anniversary of November 17, 1989.
  • Our academics are part of a €3 million Horizon Europe grant to study democratic resilience using digital twins

    In a new transdisciplinary project funded by a €3 million Horizon Europe grant, Erasmus University’s School of Social and Behavioural Sciences researchers will lead a groundbreaking effort to explore how democracies decline and how computational research tools can help strengthen democratic resilience. Our Institute of International Studies and its two research centers (Peace Research Center Prague & Centre for Digital Humanities Integration) are part of the international consortium.
