4EU+ Pluralities of Memory Spring School: Borderlands of Memory
Call for Applications is now open for the 4EU+ Pluralities of Memory Spring School: Borderlands of Memory for junior researchers (PhDs) and MA candidates affiliated with any of the 4EU+ universities (Charles University, University of Warsaw, Sorbonne University, Heidelberg University, University of Milan, University of Geneve and University of Copenhagen).
The 4EU+ Alliance: Pluralities of Memory project started in 2019 as an interdisciplinary initiative developed by scholars in the fields of history, literature, political science and sociology, focusing on the multicultural plurality of memories in Europe in general, with emphasis on mass violence, politics of memory, and memory wars in Central, East and Southeast Europe in particular.
During the lectures, workshops, and field trips in Prague and its surroundings, the participants will discuss problems connected to the following streams:
- Memory and war
- Memory and migration
- Memoryscapes
- Memory and digital humanities
- Cultural memories, circulation, and reception
The keynote speakers will be Daniel Knight (St Andrews) and Andreas Bandak (University of Copenhagen).
Applicants are invited to submit their proposals, which must include:
- Motivation letter including the main theme of their interest (approx. 250-300 words)
- CV including academic discipline/field of study and university affiliation (max. 2 p.)

- Deadline submission of proposals: 29 February, 2024
- Acknowledgement of acceptance: 10 March, 2024
- Spring school: 15-19 April 2024
