Statement by Tomáš Karásek, the FSV UK Dean, on the anniversary of November 17
"Dear colleagues, when remembering the events of November 17, 1989, we often – and quite rightly – talk about the courage that students demonstrated in the face of the armed elements of communist power. Thanks to their courage and the courage of all others who contributed to the fall of the communist regime, we have been able to live in freedom for more than a quarter of a century," says Tomáš Karásek. Roundtable and Climathon at FSV UK
The Faculty Sustainability Working Group cordially invites students and staff to two events focused on sustainability (not only) at FSV UK. The Roundtable: FSV UK in the green mirror will take place on November 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Hollar building, room H212. The roundtable discussion will be followed by the Climathon at FSV UK event in room H212 from 6:30 pm. -
Presentation of the FSV UK commemorative medals and the Josef Vavroušek Award
On the occasion of the ceremonial meeting of the FSV UK Scientific Council on November 12, 2025, the annual presentation of commemorative medals for merits in the development of the faculty and for long-term work for the faculty took place. At the meeting, the Dean Tomáš Karásek also presented awards to the winners of the Josef Vavroušek Awards 2025. We heartily congratulate everyone! -
Lecture - Beyond Extremes: Climate and Mental Health in Central Europe
The Wellbeing Working Group at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, invites you to a lecture and discussion with Dr. Weronika Kałwak on the impact of climate change on mental health and well-being in Central Europe. The lecture takes place on 26 November 2025, 17:00, in room B103a, Jinonice Campus. -
Call for Barrande PhD scholarship program for 2026/2027 is open
The next call of the Barrande scholarship program for 2026/2027 has been announced. The program is intended for Ph.D. students. of all fields and offers scholarship support for short-term research internships of 1-3 months at French universities or for doctorates under the dual supervision of cotutelles. The deadline for applications is January 29, 2026. The info webinar takes place on 26 November at 11:00 am. -
