Pride Month at FSV UK
Pride Month at FSV UK
By raising the LGBTQ+ flag at the Hollar building, the Faculty of Social Sciences joins the global Pride Month celebrations, which are a reminder of the Stonewall riots that marked the beginning of the modern movement for the rights of LGBTQ+ people.
We see diversity as an enrichment of the academic community, especially in the social sciences. That is why we strive to create a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone.
People from the LGBTQ+ community are welcome at the faculty. We have also organized several events on LGBTQ+ topics: we held a debate on marriage for all, a lecture on sexuality and aging, a debate on socially sensitive Czech language, and we are preparing more events. Last but not least, our students research this topic in their final theses.
