Important note for visa-seeking students: Please read about the visa process carefully before applying. You are responsible for organizing your legal stay in Czechia and the visa application process can get quite lengthy. The extended deadlines are therefore strongly recommended to students who already possess the legal right to long-term stay in Czechia.

  • Josef Vavroušek Award results

    We are pleased to announce the results of the 27th public competition for Josef Vavroušek Award. The authors of thirty-four works from seven universities participated in the competition. The diplomas will be presented to the award-winning competitors during the ceremonial meeting of the FSV UK Scientific Council on 16 November 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Karolinum.
  • FSV UK students represented Charles University at la SPECQUE

    This summer our students took part in la SPECQUE, which is the largest international francophone simulation of the European Parliament in the world. The simulation took place in Quebec, Canada. This year’s delegation from Charles University consisted of 5 members, and all members of this delegation are also students of FSV UK.
  • New publication: Paths out of the Apocalypse

    “Paths out of the Apocalypse. Physical Violence in the Fall and Renewal of Central Europe, 1914-1922”, the new book by Ota Konrád and Rudolf Kučera,  has been published by Oxford University Press, one of the world's most prestigious global publishing houses, publishing mostly groundbreaking works with a high international impact. The book was published as part of the series "The Greater War", which brings together the currently most interesting monographs on the topic of the First World War and its global consequences.
  • Competition of high-quality publications at Charles University for 2022

    Charles University announced the best publications for 2022. Three publications authored or co-authored by FSV UK academics are among them.
  • Success of IES students in CFA Research Challenge

    Our students, Jakub Bobysud, Matej Leško, Peter Palovič and Ondřej Rosický represented the IES FSV UK, the Faculty and Charles University at the 12th edition of the prestigious international investment competition, CFA Research Challenge. They won the challenging sub-regional round, and became also the winners of the EMEA region semi-finals. In the history of the competition, only one team from the Czech Republic has managed to do so. Finally, they also took part in the EMEA finals, where according to the jury they placed 3rd - 6th overall.
  • Submit your thesis for Josef Vavrousek Award

    The 27th public competition was announced for Josef Vavrousek Award.  Students, doctoral students and young university graduates in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including international degree students, can submit their Bachelor and Master theses and PhD dissertations for the competition. The submission deadline for this year is Friday 29 July 2022, 12:00p.m.
