Beyond Words: Integrating Diversity, Well-being and Inner Development in Language Education

The FSV UK Language Centre organises an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme called Beyond Words: Integrating Diversity, Well-being and Inner Development in Language Education.

This programme is designed for university language teachers and explores how key contemporary topics such as equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), well-being, and inner development can be meaningfully integrated into language teaching. Language teachers from various European countries are involved in the project, bringing a diverse range of experiences, cultural perspectives, and pedagogical approaches. Utilizing tools such as Transactional Analysis, Inner Development Goals (IDG), and participatory methods like the Diversity Fresco, the programme encourages teachers to go beyond traditional language goals and to develop an inclusive, empathetic, and self-aware educational environment.

Programme Goals

  • Increase awareness among language teachers about the importance of incorporating topics of well-being, equality, diversity, and inner development into teaching.
  • Introduce practical strategies and pedagogical tools for implementing these topics into language activities.
  • Promote the exchange of experiences and share examples of good practice across European universities.
  • Support the personal and professional development of teachers.
