Students and employees of FSV UK now have the opportunity to sort bio-waste. At the initiative of the faculty Sustainability Working Group, a new rotating two-chamber compost bin has been placed in the Jinonice Campus between buildings B and C. It enables bio-waste processing into a nutritious compost that can be used as a source of nutrients for plants at the faculty and in the surrounding area.

We cordially invite you to a seminar on operation procedures in crises situations for FSV UK employees led by Zdeněk Kalvach, Security Advisor of Charles University. The workshop will focus on proper responses to security incidents of various intensity which could happen on the faculty premises. The online seminar in English will take place on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 3 p.m.

During the exam period, i.e. from 18 May to 30 June 2024, the night study rooms in the Jinonice library will be open on weekends too, from 9 am to midnight. During week days, the night study rooms will be open as usual, i.e. from Monday to Thursday from 7:00 pm to midnight and on Friday from 5:00 pm to midnight.

Researchers from the Institute of Political Studies FSV UK are working on a project focusing on research on online and offline extremism. The project would involve the participation of Teun van Dijk, a world-renowned expert in discourse studies, who visited Prague as part of this collaboration.

On Tuesday, 16 April 2024, during the Academic Senate FSV UK meeting, the Golden Courses for the best courses of the Winter Semester 2023/2024 according to the student evaluation were awarded to the lecturers. Congratulations to all recipients!

22 April is Earth Day worldwide. The Sustainability Working Group is preparing several events in the Jinonice Campus for students and employees. You can look forward to a swap of indoor plants, cuttings, seeds and flower pots, a presentation of posters and a meeting on the topic of sustainability.
