Tomáš Weiss (IIS) Holds a Prestigious Jean Monnet Chair Grant

Doc. Mgr. Tomáš Weiss, M.A., PhD from the Department of European Studies (Institute of International Studies) holds a prestigious grant Jean Monnet Chair in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies, which he received from the European Commission.

The three-year grant is dedicated to teaching and organizing workshops within the EU Small States' Security Teaching and Debating project, starting on 1st September 2019. Of the 1315 applications submitted, only 251 were approved by the European Commission.

The Jean Monnet Chair is a prestigious degree for a university educator focused on EU issues in a specific discipline. The programme supports the establishment of new courses, research and the development of research at specialized institutions and is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus + programme.

At the same time professor Ivo Šlosarčík leads another project - Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence NIECE – at the Department of European Studies.
