European Communication Monitor 2020

We are happy to announce that doc. PhDr. Denisa Hejlova, PhD., Head of the Department of Marketing Communication and Public Relations of Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at Charles University is a part of the international scientific team for Europe's largest public relations and strategic communications research.

The research started yesterday 20 February and as in previous years, Czech professionals can participate in it and express their opinion on current topics - especially the ethics of data use and online targeting, cybersecurity, and hidden advertising. The research results will be used by companies and agencies to plan strategies and academics for scientific work.

The research is online until 22 February at the European Communication website. The aim is to involve the maximum number of people working in communication, whether in agencies or press departments of companies, state or non-profit organizations so that the results enable Czech and foreign candidates to obtain relevant information about the Czech market.

This year, the European Communication Monitor is being held for the thirteenth time. Among other things, last year's results pointed to the growing importance of artificial intelligence. 77% of communication professionals believe that artificial intelligence will significantly affect the future of the industry. In general, they consider maintaining and strengthening trust in the institution or brand as key in their work. The biggest problem for them is to keep pace with the continuous development of technology and the increasing speed of communication.

The research is organized by a team of scientists led by Ansgar Zerfass from the University of Leipzig. For the Czech Republic, he is represented by Denisa Hejlová. The research is in English and the questionnaire takes about 10-15 minutes. Each respondent also receives results.
