IMS launches a new research centre: Ukraine in a changing Europe
The Institute of International Studies launches their new research centre entitled Ukraine in a Changing Europe, which will be led by Dr. Valeria Korablyova, a member of the Department of Russian and East European Studies.
Public events, dedicated to the launch of the Center, include a public lecture for IMS students and academics by Dr. Viktoria Sereda, a recognized expert on the Ukrainian society, whose forthcoming book “Displacement in War-Torn Ukraine: State, Displacement and Belonging” (Cambridge University Press) provides the core of the lecture. The lecture will take place on Monday, 20 February at 12:00 in the FSV UK building at Pekařská 16 (room 114). More details about the lecture can be found in the attached poster.
In the afternoon, two panel discussions bring together Czech and Ukrainian experts to put in focus two burning topics – accommodation of Ukrainian displaced people in the EU and transformations of the Ukrainian society in the wake of the war. The programme will take place from 14:00 in the Minuta Hall, Scout Institute (Staroměstské náměstí 1/4). The working language will be English. Please note that you need to REGISTER for the event.
