The student society FSV UK Circle was founded in 2022 as a society bringing together students of international study programs at FSV UK. The aim of the society is to create a broad community of international students, which, through mutual social support, will lead to a more fulfilling life for international students in Prague. FSV UK Circle is unique in that it is fully managed by international students and its activities are focused not only on them, but also on connecting with Czech students, which has a profound impact at the level of the faculty, the entire university and the wider Prague community.
In the last year alone, FSV UK Circle has organized almost 50 different events with an average attendance of 35 students. The most popular events traditionally include Board Game Night and lnternational BBQ night. Also popular are joint watching of sports broadcasts, pub quizzes, tournaments or weekend trips. However, more intimate events such as book club meetings also have their audience.
FSV UK Circle is also very active on social media, especially lnstagram, where over the last year they have published over 160 posts, with which almost 14 thousand users from among potential applicants and newly admitted and current students interacted. Some members of the association are also part of the faculty ambassador program focused on potential applicants for studies at FSV UK and admitted students.
You can hear more about the activities of FSV UK Circle in an episode of the faculty podcast De Facto.
Prof. Miroslav Vlček’s Extraordinary Scholarship was established at Charles University in 2021 with other partner universities as part of the Study in Prague project. The scholarship is intended for students of foreign language study programs who, beyond their study obligations, have contributed to spreading the good name of the university in the Czech Republic or abroad, have participated in research or educational projects, or have participated in other activities for the benefit of other foreign students of the university.
