FSV UK charity Christmas event for homeless people

FSV UK has once again prepared a faculty charity Christmas event for its employees. This year it will be focused on helping homeless people through the Salvation Army organization.

We have divided the gifts that will make the upcoming winter easier for homeless people and will help not only the clients, but also their four-legged companions into 4 categories below. You can donate them in paper gift/shopping bags or in transparent packaging:

  • warm winter clothes – sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, underwear, thermal underwear, jackets, blankets, sleeping bags
  • non-perishable food (only those for direct consumption, not intended for cooking) – canned food, biscuits, juices, nuts, dried fruit, etc. (in packets, field workers will distribute them directly to clients on the street)
  • hygiene supplies – toothpaste + toothbrushes, shampoos, shower gels, women's intimate hygiene supplies, etc. (in packets)
  • clients' four-legged companions – dry dog food, canned food, treats (in packets)

If you have the opportunity and desire to participate in this charity event, you can do so as an individual or on behalf of a department/part of the faculty, until Monday 18 December 2023 at noon. First, you will choose the gifts you want to give in the registration form. Then you can bring them either in paper (gift) bags or transparent packaging to the office No. 8 at Hollar (Smetanovo nábřeží 6) or office No. 614 in Jinonice Campus (U Kříže 8). Detailed instructions and registration form are available in the email you received to your faculty email address.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact Nikola Havlová at nikola.havlova@fsv.cuni.cz. After the end of the event, the packages for FSV UK will be donated en masse to homeless people through the Salvation Army. We are launching the event on 28 November 2023 on the global day of generosity and good deeds as part of Giving Tuesday. Join us.

Many thanks!
