Virtual mobility

Virtual mobility

Information for academics

In order to ensure a varied and high-quality offer of courses for virtual mobility at Charles University, the Virtual Mobility Support Fund (POVIM) offers funding to academics who have decided to open their online courses to students from 4EU+ and other partner universities.

The virtual courses can have three categories:

  • 4EU+ Joint Courses (category 1) – courses created within the framework of 4EU+ alliance cooperation, e.g. edu projects, which can be offered to all students of the 4EU+ Alliance - POVIM support cannot be applied for;
  • 4EU+ Shared Courses (category 2) – courses meeting the conditions of 4EU+, belonging to the flagship, fulfilling key competences, offered to all students of the 4EU+ Alliance - POVIM support can be applied for;
  • Open Courses (category 3) – courses open outside the 4EU+ Alliance, i.e. they do not have to meet the condition of belonging to flagships and fulfilling key competencies, will be offered to students of all partner universities.

For more details on the categories - see the attachment Virtual mobility at CU_categories.pdf

The courses are shared at the 4EU+ Student Portal.

In order to correctly track the activities it is essential for teachers to tag the course "virtual" and "4EU+" in the SIS. Find more specifications in the attachement

The applications for the POVIM fund are submitted twice a year for the following semester. The deadline for the winter semester is July 15, for the summer semester December 10.

Virtual mobility courses collection open

The collection of courses for virtual mobility for WS 2024/2025 as well as the call for the POVIM Fund (support for virtual mobility) of RUK have been announced.

The deadline for collecting shared courses and submitting applications for POVIM is July 15, 2024.

The conditions of the POVIM fund remain the same as last semester. Detailed rules are available on the UK website. At the same time, the website also contains information about the categories of courses for virtual mobility, including conditions, also in English.

Courses opened outside of the Alliance, which will apply for support within the POVIM fund, must be entered in SIS and with complete syllabi before submitting applications to RUK, i.e. by July 15 (as well as shared courses), otherwise they will be automatically excluded from the selection process. At the same time, I would ask that the application be submitted directly by the person to whom the support is to be paid, not by their superior or other representative, as this subsequently complicates the payment. Shared courses are published on the 4EU+ Student Portal.

For publication, it is necessary to meet the conditions of the 4EU+ syllabus, i.e. to have the key competences, possibly Flagship, marked in the SIS, and the brief course content, learning outcomes, methods of completing the course (credit or exam conditions) and prerequisites, if any, indicated. The absence of the given information in the SIS may be the reason for the course not being included in the offer and for the rejection of support from the POVIM Fund.

At the same time, we remind you of the function of the 4EU+ flag in SIS, and we strongly ask for its adequate use not only for virtual mobility courses. On the basis of filtering according to the given symptom, 4EU+ questionnaires are subsequently sent out, which lead to the evaluation of activities within the Alliance.
