Why it is important to vote for the AS FSV UK
The Academic Senate of FSV UK is the key controlling institution of the faculty. Through the Academic Senate you can influence the running of your faculty, just like in any other political election.
It is composed of ten students and ten teachers. The senators look under the hands of the faculty management, checking, for example, the preparation of the budget, various faculty regulations, but also, for example, the quality of teaching. Furthermore it is important for the student academic community that the student chamber of the Academic Senate distributes money to student societies. With this money, students can then organise various events that may not even be directly related to their studies. Whether it is a sports day, a beer pentathlon or debates with interesting guests, student money always comes in handy when organising an event.
In addition, the Senate deals with matters directly related to studying. Currently, the Study Committee dealt with the situation of the Ukrainians Students when the war started, comments on and regulates the accreditations of new study programmes and the same committee also regularly analyses feedback from students. The Senate also works closely together in the development of the timetable for each academic year, trying to accommodate students as much as possible.
However, the Academic Senators are not unknown to students. Each of them also acts as a liaison between the students and the faculty administration. As a body, the Senate is a support for students and helps to solve their problems. For example, the Social Commission is in charge of the Student Ombudsmen Project, which was created specifically to improve conditions for students and teachers,
