Science at FSV UK: New study maps online hate speech in Czechia and reveals shared narratives targeting minorities
Hate speech targeting Roma, migrants, Muslims, Jewish communities, and LGBTQ+ people in Czechia often follows similar patterns, drawing on stereotypes, perceived cultural threats, and conspiracy theories. A new research report examines 2,500 social media posts to explore how hateful narratives emerge, overlap, and reinforce one another in the Czech online environment. The publication was prepared by a team of twelve bachelor’s and master’s students and edited by Jonathan Collins. -
Science Communication 360°: Introducing the conference report from our second edition and revealing the theme of the next conference
We are delighted to present the conference report of the second edition of the Science Communication 360° conference, which we organise at FSV UK in collaboration with the Czech Academy of Sciences and the SciComHub platform. We are also pleased to announce the date of the next edition. The conference will take place on Thursday, February 4, 2027, at the Jinonice Campus. The third edition will explore the theme The Future of Attention. -
New Code of Study and Examination and Rules for the Organization of Studies
From October 1, 2026, the new CU Code of Study and Examination and the related faculty Rules for the Organization of Studies, which were finally approved by the Academic Senate of Charles University on September 30, 2026, comes into effect. -
Erasmus Days at FSV UK: Jinonice came alive with an international atmosphere and inspiration for going abroad
On Thursday, 15 October 2026, the foyer of the Jinonice Campus transformed into a hub of international inspiration, the exchange of experiences, and the discovery of new opportunities. Erasmus Days at the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSV UK) introduced students to a diverse range of study abroad programs and practical internships, demonstrating that venturing abroad during one’s studies offers far more than just earning academic credits at a foreign university. -
Opening of the Jinonice Campus canteen
On Monday, 19 October 2026, we are opening a new canteen in the Jinonice Campus. You will find it on the 6th floor of Building C, to the right past the elevators. The canteen is available to both FSV UK staff and students. It will be open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 to 14:15, and on Fridays from 11:30 to 14:00. Each day, the canteen will offer a choice of three hot main courses, one soup, and various beverages. During the first week following the opening, the canteen will operate on a trial basis. -
Offer of one-month scholarships at partner universities in Germany for 2027
Academic staff and doctoral students at Charles University may apply for one-month scholarship stays at German partner universities in 2027. Required documents must be submitted to the International Office by October 31, 2026.
