New Code of Study and Examination and Rules for the Organization of Studies

From October 1, 2026, the new CU Code of Study and Examination and the related faculty Rules for the Organization of Studies, which were finally approved by the Academic Senate of Charles University on September 30, 2026, comes into effect.

The changes concern a number of situations that you encounter during your studies, such as the method of calculating the grade point average (GPA), additional registration or cancellation of registration for a subject, deadlines for communicating the results of oral assessments and written study checks, deadlines for withdrawing from an exam or other study checks, and others.

The change in the calculation of the grade point average now only applies to students who started their studies in the 2026/2027 academic year. Students who started their studies before AR 2026/2027 will once again see the average calculated according to the original rules in SIS and on the Transcript of Records. They will only see the new weighted average in SIS as additional information.

We will introduce and remind you of the individual rules throughout the semester on the faculty's social networks.

If you are unsure about a specific situation, please refer to the relevant regulations on the university website and the faculty website, or contact the International Degree Programs Office.
