A student group studying the MARS (Media and Area Studies) master degree programme at Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism, FSV UK, produced the virtual exhibition displaying their own photographic (collage) artwork.

"Reflections on the Dayton Accords Through the Lens of Trauma", is an exhibition displaying their own photographic (collage) work. The central motifs and leitmotifs are startling yet moving.

It has been 25 years since the Dayton Accords was signed. At the time, it was regarded as a unique event that would usher in a peaceful era in the conflict-ridden area of today’s Bosnia and Herzegovina. Yet, the country is still struggling to fully integrate all ethnicities. This can be examined as a result of the several traumatic events that happened during the years of the Bosnian War. In psychology, trauma refers to a psychological injury often caused by an emotional shock (Ashcroft et al.). The memory of it is suppressed and not healed.

The following collection of five works of art examines the various traumas connected to the events that preceded the creation of the Dayton Accords. Destruction, separation, loss of life, deprivation of human rights and, finally, displacement are just some of the themes that are necessarily tied to the war that was ended in 1995. All of these traumas are examined on the basis of the specific consequences of the war and are shown in the context of the destruction of the Mostar Bridge, the story of "Romeo and Juliet of Sarajevo", the Srebrenica genocide and the displacement of the people of Sarajevo.
