Prof. Kučera received a silver medal from Charles University

Prof. PhDr. Jaroslav Kucera, CSc. received the Silver Commemorative Medal of Charles University for his lifelong work on the development of knowledge in the field of modern history and the development of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University. He took it over from the Rector at the last meeting of the Scientific Council of Charles University this year.

Professor Kučera is a leading historian of modern history, who has focused a large part of his professional life on Czech-German topics. In the early 1990s, he was one of the first Czech historians to focus on a critical reflection on the post-war expulsion of the German minority in Czechoslovakian war. He is a recognized expert not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad, especially in Germany. He currently works as a vice-dean for science and research at FSV UK, a professor at the Institute of International Studies FSV UK and a member of the Scientific Board of Charles University.
