Karin Hofmeisterová Received the Josef Hlávka Award for 2020

Karin Hofmeisterová from the Department of Russian and East European Studies of IMS FSV UK received the Josef Hlávka Award for the best students and graduates for the year of 2020.

Karin Hofmeisterová is a doctoral student at the Department of Russian and East European Studies of the Institute of International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. She specializes in the post-Yugoslav region and her research focuses mainly on the role of churches and forms of religion in the post-secular public space. She has gained experience, for example, at the prestigious UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies in London or at the Centre for South-East European Studies - University of Graz  in Austria. She publishes scholarly studies in renowned peer-reviewed journals and participates in a wide range of Czech and international research projects.

The Josef Hlávka Award is intended for talented students in Bachelor’s, Master’s or doctoral studies who have demonstrated exceptional skills and creative thinking within their field, being up to 33 years of their age. The award is associated with the presentation of a diploma and a foundation contribution in the amount of CZK 25,000 for each award holder.
