He works at the Institute of International Studies and conducts research into ethnic minorities and migration, especially in the post-war history of Central and Eastern Europe. He has experience with research by the oral-historical method and with the use of “personal observers” in scientific and popularization projects. He is/has been involved as a member of the research team or the main researcher in the projects supported by the university (UNCE), GA ČR, TA ČR, as well as foreign donors (VolskwagenStiftung, Deutsch-Polnische Wissenschaftsstiftung, Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur des Landes Brandenburg).
