He works at the Institute of Political Studies, where he focuses mainly on the microsociology of irregular armed conflicts and groups with an emphasis on terrorist and insurgent organizations. He has experience with the application of qualitative methods, especially ethnography and in-depth interviews. In the past he (co)received numerous scientific research grants provided, among others, by GA ČR, MZV ČR/the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, NATO, etc. At present, he is a co-researcher of the grant UK UNCE, TA ČR, etc.
