  • MeDeMAP project roundtables at the European Parliament

    On 13 January 2026, the EU-funded MeDeMAP project organised two dissemination events at the European Parliament. Researchers from the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism FSV UK participated in both events, contributing to discussions and presenting findings from the Czech Citizen Parliament.
  • Lecture invitation: New rules, new challenges

    Join us for a lecture titled "New rules, new challenges: prospects for conflict mediation in a changing international system," which takes place on 6 February 2026, 9:30-11:00 am in the Hollar building, room 212. The lecture and subsequent Q&A will be held by Paul Dziatkowiec, Director of Mediation and Peace Support at the prestigious Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
  • FSV UK Library in the exam period and changes from the summer semester

    During the exam period, the library is open as usual. It is also possible to use the study rooms in Jinonice, Hollar and Opletalova. You can find the current opening hours on the library website. Starting from the summer semester, i.e. from 16 February 2026, the library in Jinonice will be open from 8:00 am.

  • Assoc. Prof. Michal Smetana from FSV UK received the Neuron Award for Young Promising Scientists 2025

    The committee appreciated how he innovatively connects the fields of international relations, security studies and political psychology, to which he has even brought experimental methods from the natural sciences. "It is a great joy and a huge award not only for me, but for our entire research team. We have a very ambitious research agenda planned for this year, so it is also a great encouragement for further work," says Assoc. Prof. Smetana about the award.
