He has been a research fellow at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague since 2001. He also holds the position of a senior research associate in the Centre for Social and Economic Strategies at the same faculty. He holds a PhD in Public and Social Policy and has almost 20 years of experience in social science research, particularly policy research. His main research interests include policy analysis/work in public administration, public policy design, policy evaluation, and drug policy. He has been involved in numerous research and policy analysis projects, including international ones. He was a principal investigator and co-investigator in several domestic and international research projects (see list of recent projects below). He was an editor of the Central European Journal of Public Policy from 2007 to 2022. He has also taught master's courses in policy analysis, evaluation, and drug policy at the Department of Public and Social Policy, Faculty of Social Sciences. He served as a vice-dean for computerization from 2022 to 2025 and is now a vice-dean for digitalization and AI from 2026.
