The proof of succesful graduation within your previous studies is one of the major conditions in order to enrol into one of our study programmes. For our Bachelor degree programmes you have to succesfully finish at least the secondary education. If you are accepted for the particular programme, you have to provide us with the hard copy of the proof before the enrolment for the programme in September.
You can deliver us the proof in person during the registration day for the programme, or you can send it to us via postal or courier service in advance. Please use this address:

Students who have studied at Czech secondary school can provide us with the authenticated copy of their "maturita" school-leaving diploma. Students who obtained a foreign secondary education have to prove the compliance with the requirement of the Czech educational system. This can be done by the submission of the authenticated hard copy of one of the following documents. See the forms of authentication here. Please note, that all submitted documents which are not originally issued in the Czech, English, or Slovak languages must be officially translated into the Czech or English languages.
a) General recognition of the equivalence or validity of a foreign document (so-called “nostrification”)
An authenticated copy of a document proving that a foreign document concerning the obtainment of secondary education is generally recognised as equivalent or valid in Czechia.
It is issued by Regional Authorities (“krajský úřad”), the Metropolitan Authority of the Capital City of Prague (“Magistrát hlavního města Prahy”), or by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

This document has a general validity in Czechia.
There is a administrative fee of CZK 1 000 paid to the Authority.
b) European Baccalaureate
An authenticated copy of the European Baccalaureate diploma.
This applies only to the European Baccalaureate. The International Baccalaureate, which is assessed under the procedure described under letter (d).
If the International Baccalaureate forms an integral part of the Czech “maturita” school-leaving diploma, an authenticated copy of the Czech “maturita” school-leaving diploma should be submittedin the admissions procedure an authenticated copy of the “maturita” certificate. (This concerns the following schools: The English College in Prague, Anglické gymnázium, o.p.s., PORG - gymnázium a základní škola, o. p. s., OPEN GATE - gymnázium a ZŠ, s. r. o., 1st International School of Ostrava - mezinárodní gymnázium, s. r. o.)
c) Document automatically equivalent without any further administrative procedure
An authenticated copy of the foreign secondary school-leaving diploma obtained by completing a secondary educational programme at a foreign secondary school operating under the legal regulations of another state that has the international agreement with Czechia.
These states are Slovakia, Poland (“swiadectwo dojrzalosci”), Hungary (“érettségi bizonyítvány”), and Slovenia.
If needed the faculty will request the applicant to also submit the original or an authenticated copy of a document describing the content and scope of education completed at a foreign school (transcript of records).
d) Foreign document concerning a foreign secondary education
In this procedure students have to submit following documents:
- An authenticated copy of the foreign secondary school-leaving diploma or a similar document obtained by completing a secondary educational programme at a foreign secondary school operating under the legal regulations of another state.
- Original or an authenticated copy of a document describing the content and scope of education completed at a foreign school (transcript of records).
This assessment of the document is valid only for the admissions purpose at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University.
If there is any ambiguity, student will be asked to submit a document under letter (a) general “nostrification”.
This assessment is free of charge at our Faculty.
