Tomáš Fencl from IES FSV UK received Karel Engliš Award
Charles University honored the best students across disciplines – from medicine and natural sciences to humanities, theology and teaching programs. In addition to top academic achievements, it also highlighted extraordinary sporting achievements and meritorious activities, which prove that excellence can take many forms. Karel Engliš Award for the best graduates of social science and humanities programs was also received by a student of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Tomáš Fencl.
Tomáš Fencl from IES FSV UK graduated with an excellent average in economics and finance. In his diploma thesis, he used advanced models to show that monetary policy affects different households differently – poorer through income, richer through assets. For his work, he received the IES award and a nomination for the Deloitte Outstanding Thesis, and joined the modeling team of the Czech National Bank. He is currently continuing his doctoral studies.
